Report: Minister: Russia to store reserves in friendly currencies

MOSCOW, Sep 8 (PRIME) -- Russia should keep its foreign currency and gold reserves in gold and the currencies of friendly states, such as yuans, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov told channel Rossiya 24 on Thursday.

"In the current conditions, if we are to create reserves and keep money in foreign currency and gold reserves, the simplest options are gold, yuans and several other currencies of the friendly states," the minister said.

The official added that trade with China is expanding, which is why the role of yuans in currency reserves will increase.
